Software Engineer

We're looking for passionate software engineers to join our team.

We are building the next generation of our mhealth platform for heart patients. The platform empowers patients to engage in their own care and assists hospital clinics in communicating and analyzing data. Our products are used by real heart patients where they make a difference every day.

You probably enjoy keeping up with technology and like to solve technical problems and build software. You will become an integral part of a small, tight-knit group of engineers.

We believe in the iterative and reflective aspects of the agile manifesto and follow it as much as it makes sense. Our engineering team runs Scrum, and our Design Research and Research and Development teams work in slightly different cycles more akin to Kanban. We work in a multi-disciplinary team and you will have extensive autonomy and a high level of personal responsibility. You understand that developing a good platform for end-users is not solely a technical challenge, and can work together with design, UX and Research and Development team members; even better if you enjoy discussing and challenging design decisions!

The platform currently running consists of Ionic-based mobile applications for iOs and Android, as well as a Knockout.JS-based website for hospital clinics. These are backed by a .NET backend that uses MSSQL, MongoDB and event queues to store data and communicate between a number of microservices. We are just now starting the process of replacing the running platform with a completely new iteration built from the ground up, that will be more future-proof. The new platform is likely to involve a complex set of backend services in one of the major languages (C#, Java, etc) and the necessary infrastructure to power it, along with mobile apps and other frontends, OAuth2 third-party integrations, processing of various kinds of external data and more. You will have a chance to help influence the decisions we make about the architecture, as it is not set-in-stone yet.

who are you

We don’t know precisely who you are, but you probably have an MSc in software engineering or similar. You enjoy exploring new ideas and you like being around people who challenge you. You love to deliver software of great quality and people know they can count on you to get things done. You may have programming languages which you are very good at wielding, but you don’t mind finding the right tool for the job depending on the problem - even if it means using a different language.

This is a high-impact, high-ownership opportunity. We work closely together to ensure everything runs smooth and looks great.
